Project Summary
This project aims to address the sustainability and the resilience of the European aerospace industry by promoting innovative cooperative relationships between stakeholders along the value chain, paying special attention to SMEs which represent a potential bottleneck to the smooth transformation of the sector.
It aims to investigate the challenges encountered by the aerospace supply chain in its pursuit of sustainability from three different standpoints economic, environmental, and social and to provide insight into potential strategies and solutions to foster sustainability in the aerospace supply chain including social dialogue.
The project will gather essential data by conducting research and analysis via desk research with stakeholder surveys and on the ground interviews, focusing on the different regions of Europe which have a strong aerospace industrial footprint. The project will identify good and bad practices with the aim to share positive examples focused on quality social dialogue.
Finally, the project will aim to develop potential strategies and shared understanding among European workers’ representatives and trade unions, creating joint recommendations and strategies while also empowering workers’ representatives and trade unions. Strengthening social dialogue will be at the heart of the project and all levels of social dialogue will be assessed with special attention to the specificities of SMEs which are often overlooked.
