The European Youth Strategy was officially adopted last week during industriAll Europe’s Executive Committee meeting in Brussels.

The process began at industriAll Europe’s Congress on 3–5 June 2025 in Budapest, where young members called for greater involvement in decision-making bodies, particularly the Executive Committee. The Congress expressed its support for increasing youth participation and asked the Youth Working Group and the secretariat to develop a European Youth Strategy for the next four-year mandate period.

The newly adopted strategy aims to further strengthen the Youth Working Group and national youth structures, boost youth membership, and give young members a stronger voice. Built around two key pillars, the strategy includes recommendations and suggestions for implementation throughout the mandate period. Members of the Youth Working Group are invited to develop national implementation plans to adapt the European strategy to their specific national contexts and needs.

“We congratulate the youth working group on the successful adoption of the European Youth Strategy! With this strategy they have planted the seeds of youth involvement in every corner of Europe. We now have a clear roadmap to act for this mandate period to enhance youth involvement. Empowering young members to actively participate in all relevant trade union structures is vital for the future of our organisation. And it is also today’s priority.”

said Isabelle Barthès, Deputy General Secretary of industriAll Europe.
