The staff of industriAll Europe today had the opportunity to say thank you and goodbye to Luc Triangle, our former General Secretary, who was elected General Secretary of the ITUC last week.

Beyond the many speeches about past and present achievements and the challenges ahead, it was our chance to say a heartfelt farewell to Luc, who's been a great leader of our organisation but also a dear friend and comrade.

Dedication, integrity, talking to affiliates, listening, understanding and connecting on a personal level, working tirelessly to unite the organisation will be things that we and many will associate with Luc. But it was touching to hear him say that one of his greatest achievements was building a strong team of colleagues who have made industriAll Europe the organisation it is today: strong, visible and committed to working for a better future for industrial workers in Europe.

Although we will miss his presence here, we couldn't be prouder that he has been chosen to take on the role of General Secretary of the ITUC. It's a testament to his abilities and the positive impact he has had on the European trade union community. The global trade union movement is gaining a true champion and we have no doubt that he will do his best to promote the unity and understanding he has fostered among European industrial trade unions on a global scale.

We wish Luc all the best in this new chapter. We want him to remember that he'll always have friends and allies here at industriAll Europe cheering him on.
