IndustriAll Europe, together with the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW) and the European Federation of Food, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions (EFFAT), has adopted a joint position on the new EU Forestry Strategy for 2030. With this position, the trade union federations aim to present a set of common trade union messages on the social dimension that needs to be taken into account in the implementation of the forestry strategy.

The position addresses issues of common interest, such as

  • protection of forests
  • promotion of forest-based value chains, cascading use of wood and sufficient access to wood as a raw material
  • a balanced approach between forests as carbon sinks and forest-based products
  • employment, education and training, and social dialogue
  • investment in research and technologies and in forest management systems.

IndustriAll Europe represents workers in the paper industry.
