Taking into account cultural and regulatory differences between countries, the multinational agreement creates shared foundations for real-world measures for Safran’s 60,000 employees in the European Union, Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom. The parties have identified common issues and turned them into concrete actions that make it easier to better balance work and family life.

The agreement reflects a shared determination to respond to changes in society and meet new employee expectations through specific commitments.

These include:

  • Parental support: Support for employees before, during and after the arrival of a child, including specific measures for adoption and fertility treatment. These measures may take the form of job accommodations or flexible work hours, for example.
  • Workplace flexibility: Adapted work hours, remote work and other work-family balance measures
  • Caregiver support: Specific support for employee caregivers in the form of training, days off and flexible work arrangements
  • Awareness initiatives: Programs aimed at promoting a positive work environment for parents and caregivers, while also fostering respect for the diversity of family situations.

“This agreement marks a decisive step in positioning Safran as a leading employer of choice, committed to employee wellbeing and attentive to work-life balance,” said Stéphane Dubois, Executive Vice President, Corporate Human and Social Responsibility.

“The framework agreement creates a common core of commitments relating to work-life balance, parental support and financial compensation,” said Isabelle Barthès, Deputy General Secretary, IndustriAll Europe. “It’s an important step forward for Safran employees in Europe. The priority now is to implement the agreement through collective bargaining at the local level.”
