Love was in the air this week and what better time than Valentine's Day to celebrate great unions. To mark the occassion, we produced a little poem about the power of people coming together:

Roses are red,
trade unions are too,
if you'd love better pay,
collective bargaining’s for you

You can spread the good feelings by sharing it on Twitter here. Our affiliates are already showing what the power of love can do, with collective bargaining victories in the Netherlands and Spain this week.

While in Belgium, are affiliates turned out in force on picket lines from the early hours in a magnificent general strike to win fair pay, secure contracts and decent pensions.

Today young people across Europe are walking out of their schools to protect about the need for action against climate change. We admire their activism and our general secretary, Luc Triangle, has called on politicians to deliver on their promises of a just transition to a low carbon economy.

You can watch his full speech here and read the article he wrote for Euractiv on exactly what a just transition involves here.

Enjoy the weekend - afterall, we won it!
